Simone ten Hompel

在展览会上，当我进入这个房间的时候，阳光正好从外面穿过玻璃窗户照射进这个房间，使得这一组作品散发暖洋洋的质感。Simone的金属器皿-模糊的银器，锈蚀的铁和氧化的黄铜，并且表面伴有凹凸不平的，甚至如污垢般的质感。正如谷崎润一郎在《阴翳礼赞》里面描述的那样：“我们一旦见到闪闪发光的东西就心神不安”。西式的金属餐具，加上不怎么打磨的东方审美偏好，Simone的作品有一种安定的静谧之感。

When I entered this room, sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm and calm atmosphere over the exhibited works. Simone presents a set of metal utensils - obscured silver, rusted iron, and oxidized brass - accompanied by uneven surfaces, even accumulating dirt and grime. As Tanizaki described in 'In Praise of Shadows', "as a general matter, we find it hard to be really at home with things that shine and glitter.” By combining Western metal utensils with unpolished Oriental aesthetics, these works evoke a sense of tranquility.

我为此自己也打磨了一下黄铜的盒子，实验发现砂纸目数在120左右的干磨，可以给金属表面打磨出鱼鳞一样的弯曲痕迹。同时这个弯曲的痕迹展现出了打磨的路线。除了造型之外，通过打磨表面的机理，给作品以一些微妙的风格的差异。
